Papa You're Crazy (1957) is a novella by William Saroyan. It is a tale about a father and child and their adventures in the suburbs of San Francisco. The novella is written in the voice of the 10 year-old-child.  The character of the farther is literally a starving artist (a poet to be exact) who challenges his child in ways adults do.
