Joseph Conrad (born Józef Teodor Konrad Korzeniowski, 1857/12/03 – 1924/08/03) was a Polish born English novelist. He is considered to be one of the greatest writers, however, did not learn to speak English until in his twenties. Many of his tales are about sea and exotic places as he draws from his experiences in French and British Merchan Navy. He became a British citizen in 1886.
